Summary:

Seven Ways We Lie is a book about what appears to be a stereotypical high school. Scandalous speculation causes a layer of secrets to be revealed. With lust, envy, greed, sloth, gluttony, wrath, and pride, Seven Ways We Lie is sure to peak the interest of anyone.

My Thoughts:

This book sounds a bit more engrossing and exhilarating than it is. I definitely was able to put this book down, and it actually took me quite a bit of time to finish it.
There is an excellent representation of the LGBT+ community. I do not want to spoil anything, but multiple characters turn out to be something other than straight.
Unlike many books, there is a character that every character can relate to. With seven points of view, everyone’s persona is represented. I personally identified with Kat and Claire the most.
That being said, the story as a whole is not as relatable as the characters. This book isn’t very true to the happenings at a real life high school. I suppose this criticism is a bit harsh as Seven Ways We Lie is fictional.
I liked how Riley Redgate (the author) used different perspectives for the seven main characters. It was very well done. I especially liked how Juniper had a unique writing style from everyone else.
I’m not gonna give any spoilers, but the ending was super predictable for me.

I gave this book 3/5 stars on Goodreads. It was a good book to read, but you don’t NEED to read it.
